Discover the Artistry of Bahar Yusif: A Journey from Heartbreak to Healing
Step into the world of Bahar Yusif, a self-taught artist whose vibrant soul and dramatic journey breathe life into every canvas. Born on March 20, 1972, in the culturally rich city of Baku, Azerbaijan, art flows through my lineage, nurtured in an artistic family where creativity was celebrated. My parents, esteemed local figures, sparked within me an unquenchable passion for artistic expression.
Education shaped my early years. After graduating from Baku State University of Foreign Languages in 1995, I embarked on a successful career in Human Resources with leading American oil and gas companies. However, life took a thrilling turn in 2004 when my family and I relocated to Dubai, embracing the adventure of entrepreneurship as I proudly supported my husband in his burgeoning business endeavors.
Yet, the most profound transformation occurred during life's darkest chapter. In 2020, as the world grappled with a pandemic, my family faced our own trials, culminating in the heartbreaking loss of my brother on January 1, 2021. This catastrophic event marked the end of my former self but also ignited a spark—one that would lead me back to my true passion: art.
With my daughter’s gentle encouragement, I picked up a brush and began to paint. What started as a therapeutic release evolved into a deep-seated passion for Fluid Art, where colors dance and emotions flow freely. I soon mastered advanced techniques, including the palette knife method, employing diverse mediums like oil and acrylics to create vibrant, textured pieces. Each work embodies transformation and healing, inviting viewers into a world rich with emotion and depth.
Exhibitions and Collaborations
My artistic journey blossomed with my first solo exhibition, Resurrection, held on July 11, 2021, in the heart of Baku, organized by Room – Fine Art Dine & Wine. This showcase resonated deeply, exploring themes of rebirth and resilience. Following this success, my second solo exhibition took place on April 3, 2022, curated by TenEleven, further solidifying my presence in the art community.
I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with visionary interior designers on various projects, infusing both private and commercial spaces with my unique artistic vision. Each piece I create tells a story—a narrative of transformation, resilience, and the beauty of embracing life’s chaos.
